DownArrowERCIn IT, not every skillset is created equally. As technology evolves and priorities change, you’ll find your tech hiring shift, too. Certain disciplines and levels of experience will rise to the top of your priority list, while others naturally fall.

Based on responses from more than 1,000 tech-focused hiring pros recently surveyed by Dice, here’s a general rule of thumb: The less evolved the skill and the less experienced the employee, the lower that position stands to be on the tech department’s list of must-haves.
